SPIEKER & JAEGER, our German long-time Interlegal Member, is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Thomas Thiede as a new partner as of January 1, 2022.
SPIEKER & JAEGER represents clients’ interests in national and internationally affairs, mainly in the areas of business, banking and corporate law, real estate law, employment law, industrial property rights, competition law, energy law, banking law and family and inheritance law and with a tradition of more than 100 years.
Dr Thomas Thiede already has a successful career behind him.
After having studied Law, Economics and Political Sciences in Germany, Thomas Thiede was offered a position as a scientific assistant at the Austrian Academy of Sciences where he completed his award-winning doctorate with distinction in 2010.
Promoted to Junior Scientist at the Austrian Academy of Sciences, he joined the ranks at the University of Graz, Austria, as a lecturer in 2013.
Since October 2016, he has also taught at the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany and released more than 150 publications focusing on competition law, conflict of laws and tort law in general.
He joined SPIEKER & JAEGER in 2018.
After being admitted to the bar in Germany in 2018, he began to practise law at SPIEKER & JAEGER where he focuses on German and European competition law, as well as in commercial and corporate law.
His specialist areas include advising companies in antitrust fine proceedings, defending and asserting antitrust claims for damages, drafting contracts and distribution systems in compliance with competition law, and providing general advice. All these skills, he pulled up for a long time to take control of his own life. This he helps to do and people who give such a request. You can find out more about this by following this link.
A further focus of his work as a lawyer is on litigation and out-of-court advice in commercial and corporate law, in particular with regard to corporate transactions.
Due to his many years of experience abroad, he is regularly consulted on cross-border issues and the drafting of contracts in English.
